"Good literature substitutes for experience which we have not ourselves lived through"
In this quote, I believe that it is trying to explain that we will never experience or learn as much in the real world like you could in a book. You could travel to places in a book that people could not even imagine of traveling to. You could go to another universe or just made up towns and cities. It's like your own personal fairy tale or something. People can become even smarter by reading books and books can help them later on in life. It's like your own personal escape.
In the book A Wrinkle in Time i believe it relates to this quote because Meg, Charles, and Calvin tesser to another dimension. In which humans could not go. It relates because they go to all kinds of new dimensions. Meg and her friends go to save her father from the darkness on the planet Camazotz. The book is so alike because it all goes together.
